Kang Daniel’s long-awaited album The Story has successfully entered the iTunes Charts. On May 25, it ranked #3 in Asian countries like Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and more.
The music video Upside Down which crossed 10 million views in just ten hours, was ranked #28 worldwide.
Since its release on May 24, the album has received positive feedback worldwide. It comes as no surprise since the album topped #8 on worldwide iTunes charts.
Moreover, The Story ranked #98 on iTunes charts in the European chart.
Kang Daniel’s New Album ‘The Story’ Has Ten Tracks
Konnect Entertainment, the agency behind Kang Daniel, has been teasing his comeback since early May. The album, which contains ten tracks, was released on May 24. All the tracks were co-written by Daniel.
For his first studio album release, Daniel has featured several artists. In the track Don’t Tell, he collaborates with Korean-American rapper Jessi. Also, his song How We Live features South Korean rapper Sokodomo, and Mad features American-Korean musician Chancellor.
The other tracks include The Story, Upside Down, Loser (feat. Dbo), Parade, Ride 4 U,1000x, and Moment.
According to Daniel, his new album The Story continues to tell his story to the audience as he has expressed his journey from his b-boying days to becoming a soloist in the KPOP industry.
Kang Daniel EP Albums and Singles
Kang Daniel first rose to prominence in the KPOP industry as a member of Wanna One. After ending the group activities, he continued to pursue his music career as a soloist joining the agency Konnect Entertainment.
Daniel has released four EP albums, 16 singles, and a studio album to date. His first EP, Color on Me, was released on July 25, 2019. The five-track mini-album was two times platinum certified on KMCA.
He then went on to release Cyan (March 24, 2020), followed by Magenta (August 3, 2020), and Yellow (April 13, 2021). All his EPs are platinum certified on KMCA.
As a soloist, Kang Daniel has already sold 1.4 million copies of his album, which is quite a feat. In addition, his singles like Paranoia topped #5 on US World, and Antidote grossed #21.
Kang Daniel Has Already Marked His Acting Debut
Not only a talented musician, but Kang Daniel is also set to reprise his role as an actor. On May 29, he is set to appear on the third season of tvN’s Sixth Sense and MBC’s Blockbuster.
The KPOP sensation has already made his debut on the Disney+ K-drama series Rookie Cops playing the role of Wi Seung-hyun. The story features him as one of the honor students who enroll in the police academy, following his father’s footsteps.
Meanwhile, the 2020 TV series Backstreet Rookie featured his soundtrack Something, and in 2017, Daniel performed We Are The Future for the TV special SBS Gayo Daejun.
