Netflix has promised that the reboot of the Australian young adult series Heartbreak High will be groundbreaking. In the eight-episode series, Asher Yasbincek portrays the role of Harper McLean.

Playing on Heartbreak High is certainly not the first role of Yasbincek. She gained prominence appearing as Rose on ABC’s award-winning drama series The Heights.

Who Is Asher Yasbincek?

Asher Yasbincek is an Australian actress who was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. She is very much passionate when it comes to acting. Since her debut in acting in 2019, she has worked hard to achieve her dream as an actress.

She had a breakthrough in the TV series The Heights, where she appeared as Rose from 2019 to 2020. It was her first opportunity to play the recurring role as she quickly paved the way to becoming a fan favorite.

In the 2020 comedy/drama movie Rams, Yasbincek played the supporting role of Sally. In 2022, she made a cameo appearance in the series The Wilds as Julia. She also played Chloe in the movie How to Please a Woman

She Plays Harper On Netflix’s Heartbreak High

Asher Yasbincek plays the role of Harper on Netflix’s Heartbreak High, appearing alongside Ayesha Madon, James Majoos, and Chloe Hayden.

Harper is a rebellious high school student who often quarrels with Amerie (played by Ayesha Madon). Her character description as Harper is as follows:

Harper McLean — “The person in High School everyone is a little afraid of (even the teachers). To be in Harper’s orbit is to feel kinda special – getting into that orbit is the hard part.”

The reboot of the 1994 series premiers on Netflix starting September 14, 2022.

In her interview with themudmag.com, the Australian actress said she will always cherish her ideal character, Harper. She describes filming on Netflix’s iconic project has been the most exciting part of her life.

With every opportunity she grabbed from the entertainment industry, Yasbincek has understood quite a lot. She describes she is learning patience as an actor. She has appreciated her hardships which carry special meaning to her goals.

Her Upcoming Psychological Series, Riptide

Yasbincek is set to appear in the upcoming psychological thriller series Riptide. The drama series was shot in Melbourne. The production of the four-part series, which started in early August, concluded on August 22, 2022.

In the show, she joins the cast of David Berry, Jo Joyner, and Peter O’Brien. The series is a co-production between Channel 5 and Network 10.

It is set to premiere in late 2022 on the original network Channel 5 (UK) and Network 10 (Australia).
