Who Are His Parents?
As per sources, Austin Thompson is the son of Allen Thompson and Elsie Thompson. According to his Hedingham house neighbors, Austin’s father Allen worked as a handyman helping on odd jobs. But not many details have surfaced about his parents.
Austin lived with his father in Hedingham, where he usually worked in his garage. According to his neighbors, he used to have unusual activities.

Describing his strange activity, Lavarius Thompson, one of his neighbors, said to WRAL, “I used to see him at 4:30, 5 in the morning with a bookbag on. Buses don’t run till 7 in the morning.”
Austin Thomspon Arrest Details
According to Raleigh Police, Austin initially shot at least two people in the streets of Hedingham in the night on October 13. He then fled to the Neuse River Greenway Trail, where he opened fire, killing and injuring people.
According to the sources, the law enforcer tracked Austin after an hour-long search in a property six miles from his home. Following his arrest, police took him to the hospital at WakeMed, where he is undergoing treatment due to a critical condition.
It’s unclear about the nature of his injury. But he has a gunshot wound to the head, WRAL reports.
What Are His Charges?
Although Austin Thompson is 15 years old, the superior court might handle his case with the charges on him as an adult with first-degree murder.
He is currently sentenced as a juvenile under North Carolina criminal justice law.
According to the law in North Carolina, 16 and 17-year-old teenagers prosecutes in juvenile court. But the state law states that during alleged first-degree murder, anyone 13 or above would be charged in superior court as an adult.
