The audience and the four judges were quite stunned by what they saw on stage. Cowell’s reaction to watching himself on the big screen was quite shocking- he was in love with the surprising performance.
The contestants behind the performance, Tom Graham and Chris Ume, had put on quite a show on America’s Got Talent. They bought a face of 2018 finalist Daniel Emmet before transferring him to Simon Cowell and singing Chicago’s You’re My Inspiration.
Howie Mandel immediately voted ‘Yes,’ followed by the other three judges, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell.
Who Are Tom Graham and Chris Ume?
Tom Graham and Chris Ume are tech genius who is behind creating the deepfake with their company Metaphysic Synthetic Media. They have developed the AI technology called Metaphysic.
Graham hails from Australia, and Ume is from Belgium. While both of them have been working in the company for two years, they hadn’t met face-to-face until the recent auditions on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
Their company’s Instagram bio reads, ‘We build AI tools and software to create hyper-realistic synthetic media at scale.’ As of this writing, their Instagram page has 9.1 K followers.
Not only Simon Cowell but Metaphysic Media have also created the deepfake of Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Cruise, and even Lionel Messi.

The new season of America’s Got Talent premiers on NBC on Tuesday nights at 8/7c. The talent competition show resumed its 17th season on May 31.
